Dear Mishawaka Wrestling Friends, Family, Fans, and Alumni,

The reason for this letter is to celebrate the resurgence of the Mishawaka Wrestling program as well as request the financial support to build upon our wrestling heritage and success of our student athletes.

Mishawaka Wrestling has benefited thousands of athletes beginning with Coach Al Smith in the late 60’s and generating the first State Champion, Henry Wilk in 1969. There have been:

  • 18 Individual State Champions
  • 17 State Runner-up
  • 101 State Placers, and
  • 170 State Qualifiers

As a team, Mishawaka High School Wrestling has earned:

  • 29 Conference Champions
  • 25 Sectional Titles
  • 28 Regional Champions
  • 13 Semi-State Champions
  • 2 State Runner-up
  • 3 State Champions

Growing Women’s Wrestling Participation and Achievement:

  • What used to be occasional female participants is now 4-6 team members annually
  • Consistent Women’s State Finalists, Placers, and Qualifiers the past several years

Mishawaka Wrestling at the Junior High and Club level has resulted in:

  • Continual domination of the Big 11 Conference and Middle School team championship
  • Numerous Middle School State placers every year and near or at the top for Team State
  • Youth wrestlers earning individual ISWA State Championships and several State Placers

Former Cavemen currently wrestling in the collegiate ranks:

  • Joe Walker, 174 lbs, University of Michigan
  • Brendan Mark, 125 lbs, Indiana Tech
  • Cody Timmerman, 184 lbs, Indiana Tech
  • Andrew Sinkovics, 141 lbs, Wabash College
  • Salome Walker, 136 lbs, North Central

To build on this success, Mishawaka Wrestling needs sustaining financial partners with donations and sponsorships to help underwrite the costs of:

  • Expanded Coaching Staff
  • Advanced Training Opportunities
  • Specialty Skills Camps
  • New Wrestling Mats
  • Facilities Improvements
  • Tournaments and Travel Expenses
  • Development of Future Cavemen Through Our Youth Wrestling Club

The attached flier details contribution levels and sponsorship opportunities currently available to support the Mishawaka Wrestling program, as well as the various methods in which to submit payment.
